Rapid Q&A - Get to know Jake

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in suburban Chicago, IL and still reside in the area today. Having a huge international airport in my backyard in O'Hare has definitely spoiled me throughout the years!

What is your favorite place you have visited?

This one is always hard so I'll cheat and break it down into sections:

  • Favorite country - Croatia

  • Favorite city - Helsinki, Finland

  • Favorite location - Maui, Hawai'i, USA

What's on the top of your travel bucket list right now?

Staying overnight at the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore; the view from that infinity pool looks absolutely breathtaking! Not to mention, the hotel itself is one of the most famous in the world.

What is one piece of advice you have for new travelers?

I always try to learn about the various elements that make up the culture (food, language, traditions, etc.) of the places I am visiting before I arrive; I've found this has made my experiences feel much more immersive when I am actually on the ground.

Meet Jake, the architect behind the brand.

Growing up, I was immensely fortunate to be raised in a family that valued traveling. Being exposed to traveling at such a young age might as well have been injecting me with an incurable disease. From driving up California’s PCH to soaking in the lights in Times Square, trips around the country were the staple to my childhood summers. The more I traveled the worse my disease became, especially as I grew older and began to truly appreciate where I was and what I was doing. During my time in college, I was fortunate enough to be able to study internationally twice, thanks to the help of one of the strongest international education departments in the country at Miami University.

Not only has the value of traveling always been present throughout my lifetime, but the entire foundation of my family rests on the pillars of our heritage. I’m extremely proud and lucky to say that I am a dual citizen of both the United States and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. My Great-Great Grandfather immigrated to the United States from Luxembourg in the 19th century to start a new life for his family, but was certain to never let his roots wither away. Since then we have been avid preservers of our heritage, and a large majority of my extended family are current officers or members of Section 3 of the Luxembourg Brotherhood of America. The namesake of the brand pays homage to this heritage, as +352 is the international country code of Luxembourg. Four generations later and here I sit, saturated with European culture and heritage that have caused my disease to evolve into one that is nothing short of crippling.

I recognize the undeniable privileges I’ve been afforded by growing up in a globally influenced family that valued traveling, and that not everyone is presented with the same opportunities that I have been. My background is extremely unique, as are the backgrounds of every single individual that may come across this website; and that is precisely where the mission of this webpage manifests itself. I desire to create a community where, no matter your background or motivation of travel, we can all share the same burning passion for traveling the world. By the same token, I hope that this can be a place for all travelers, both old and new, to come for a wide range of travel-related content and information.

As mentioned in the Home page, I wholeheartedly believe that there is no one "right way" to travel. Everybody has their own preferences and experiences that stimulate their love for traveling, and that’s exactly how it should be. As a visitor to 352 Global, I truly hope you can find some valuable information on this site. By no means do I intend this to act as the end-all-be-all source of travel information - there are SO many places I have not yet traveled to, and I am very far from being the world’s most seasoned traveler. However, from the places that I have been lucky enough to explore, I want to give back to our community and share the many things that have fed my unwavering appetite for traveling around our beautiful planet.

As we continue to forge our own paths around the world, this webpage will continuously be evolving with new and improved information and recommendations, so I hope you stick around for the long haul! In the meantime, I hope you can find enough information here to aid you in your travel planning and empower you to find your own way around the globe.

Happy Exploring!

WHy 352 Global?

Are there more popular brands to turn to for your travel information? Yes. Are there more detailed and intricate sources of travel information that can be found elsewhere on the internet? Absolutely. But neither of those things are what we are or what we strive to be. Our identity here at 352 Global is essentially two-fold: conciseness and community.

Oftentimes, travel information can be communicated in a manner that is simply not absorbable for the average visitor, whether it be with too much unnecessary detail or not enough materiality. With the information we provide, we look to find that happy medium between too vague and too detailed. At the end of the day, our ultimate mission is to provide you with any relevant information you would need when seeking out advice for planning your travels; and if any of our covered topics ever call for supplemental high-level detail that is beyond the scope of what we look to provide on this site, we’ll always be sure to point you in the right direction in the form of other links and sources that we have vetted as legitimate and up-to-date. Think of us as the funnel through which you’ll start your travel planning process: come for thorough and concise information on any relevant travel-related topic and leave with a better direction on how to finalize your own personal travel plans.

We’ve always held the ideology that the relationship between the 352 Global Creators and our community should be a symbiotic one. Instead of facilitating the one-way and condescending “we know better than you” conversation, we aim at creating an environment where together we can all discuss our love for traveling eye-to-eye. There’s a reason we harp on this element of the platform so much: simply put, none of this would be a reality without it. The main catalyst to the effectiveness of the brand is indeed the circle of feedback and engagement from the community itself. And not to mention, none of this would ever be fathomable as a one-man show. Contributions and feedback from visitors are an absolutely vital piece to the puzzle; not only do they help fill in the inevitable gaps that we will have, but they also provide guidance on how to better adapt the content moving forward. We owe so much of what we do to the active engagement of you, the audience, and will always strive to make our content as visitor-centric as possible.

What sets us apart?

Our digital media content is the backbone of what we do. We understand that the future of marketing and communications lies with digital media platforms, and in order to facilitate a truly connected worldwide community, we know we’ve gotta be on our digital media A-game. We take pride in the quality of the digital work that we produce for our community, whether it be cinematic works that can inspire your traveling imagination or Q&A sessions to help you feel more at ease during your travel planning process. And the best part? The possibilities of what we can make are endless. You, the travelers within the community, are the drivers of the content that we produce, and we want to make what you want to see. We implore all of our visitors to reach out to us to let us know what you'd like to see and what we can improve to enhance your experience with 352 Global. As always, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a beat!
